My foundation will start this christmas! I’m going to draw the logo today. Just like everyone else. I feel a little over my head financially right now. My building costs have doubled of course/but I’m happy I’m keeping a lot of people employed much longer than expected- But that won’t keep me from continuing to give-. It circulates. It keeps things flowing. I found a wonderful charity that will be my first gift this holiday season. This young boy has really found his calling and I think he is so terrific- this is a great example of our youth- I’m so proud of him. My boys think he is super cool. We do a lot of lemonade stands ourselves for local causes. But were even more inspired now. Keep it up Zach!. It’ll catch on- love pamela -www.LittleRedWagonFoundation.com

Feeding The Hungry Without Exploiting Animals

    11.28.08 |

VEGFAM helps people overseas by providing funds for self-supporting, sustainable food projects and the provision of safe drinking water.

We fund ethically sound plant-food projects, which do not exploit animals or the environment: seeds and tools for vegetable growing, fruit and nut tree planting, irrigation and water wells. Also, emergency feeding in times of crisis.

VEGFAM funded projects are carried out by organisations who are committed to helping their fellow human beings in practical and sustainable ways - helping people who are often out of reach of the major charities.

We rely totally on donations from supporters - we do not receive funding from any other source. 90% of general donations are spent directly on projects.

In recent years, our famine relief projects have benefited: flood and earthquake survivors (including tsunami), HIV/AIDS sufferers, homeless people, marginalised communities, maternity homes, orphanages, refugees, schools and colleges. Villagers and tribal people have also been helped.

During 2005/2007, almost £100,000 was spent on projects, benefiting over 3/4 million people in 12 countries.

Please support VEGFAM’S work - sending a donation will enable us to support life saving projects which alleviate hunger, thirst, malnutrition and starvation.

    Feed The Children

    About Feed The Children
    Our Mission
Feed The Children is a Christian, international, nonprofit relief organization with headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, that delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty, or natural disaster.

    What We Do
During our 29-year history, Feed The Children has grown into one of the world’s largest private organizations dedicated to helping hungry and hurting people. Last year, Feed The Children shipped 135 million pounds of food and other essentials to children and families in all 50 states and in 32 foreign countries, supplementing almost 800,000 meals a day worldwide. Since our founding in 1979 by Larry and Frances Jones, Feed The Children has reached out to help children and families in 118 countries around the globe.

    U.S. Programs
The heart of Feed The Children’s U.S. program is distributing food to families in need. To do this, we work closely with caring corporate partners that donate surplus food and other supplies, as well as with individual donors who help defray the cost of transporting the product donations.

Feed The Children’s wholly-owned subsidiary, FTC Transportation, Inc., picks up in-kind contributions from corporate warehouses and brings them to one of six Feed The Children regional distribution centers. Some of the donations are then distributed in bulk and others are processed into individual relief boxes.

    Regional Distribution Centers

The supplies and boxes are then delivered to pre-approved, independent partner agencies that, in turn, distribute the supplies through over 50,000 feeding centers, homeless shelters, churches and various other organizations located in communities across the U.S. Individuals and groups can also sponsor a food distribution, during which boxes are given directly to families in need.

While much of our work focuses on hungry children, we also understand the importance of feeding a child’s mind. For this reason, Feed The Children launched a new education initiative named H.E.L.P., or the Homeless Education and Literacy Program. Through H.E.L.P., Feed The Children works with the Homeless Outreach Coordinators in elementary and middle schools to provide essential school supplies, books, food and personal care items to homeless students.

Through the generosity of committed partners, Feed The Children delivers much needed necessities to children and their families every day. As always, Feed The Children provides help to those in need absolutely free of charge. Find out how you can take a stand against hunger in the U.S.

    International Outreach
Feed The Children’s international programs focus on providing food, medical assistance, emergency relief, and creating sustainable development.

Since 1979, we have provided food, clothing, medical assistance, and educational opportunities to those in need in more than 118 nations around the world. Through schools, orphanages and church-related programs, Feed The Children touches the lives of millions of children. We also provide assistance to orphanages, schools, and other charitable groups in these regions.

A key goal is to help families in need move past needing help and into becoming self-sufficient members of their community. Through long-term, self-help development programs funded by grants and individual donors, thousands of families in countries around the world have increased their ability to be self-sufficient by learning and applying new, marketable skills. Find out how you can be a part of the solution to the problem of child hunger around the world.

The National Police Athletic League Associations

    10.02.08 |

    WWW.NATIONALPAL.ORG - The PAL Story
Cops and Kids – Working Together for a better tomorrow.
The National Police Athletics/Activities Leagues, Inc. exists to prevent juvenile crime and violence by providing civic, athletic, recreational and educational opportunities and resources to PAL Chapters.

PAL is a youth crime prevention program that utilizes educational, athletic and recreational activities to create trust and understanding between police officers and youth. It is based on the conviction that young people - if they are reached early enough - can develop strong positive attitudes towards police officers in their journey through life toward the goal of maturity and good citizenship. The PAL program brings youth under the supervision and positive influence of a law enforcement agency and expands public awareness about the role of a police officer and the reinforcement of the responsible values and attitudes instilled in young people by their parents.

Studies have shown that if a young person respects a police officer on the ball field, gym or classroom, the youth will likely come to respect the laws that police officers enforce. Such respect is beneficial to the youth, the police officer, the neighborhood and the business community.
