    Canada’s model for health care

    09.30.08 |

WHY aren’t we using Canada’s model for health care?- Everyone’s treated the same- someone get a clue- so inexpensive and fair for everyone. While you are under your parent’s roof you are covered and when you move out it’s so little to be covered on your own as a single adult-

Did you see the debate on Friday night?

Barack won a solid victory, and the polls all show that his message of change broke through to undecided voters.

In the next 48 hours, we have a great opportunity to grow this movement for change. By reaching out to fellow voters right now, and talking about the important differences we all saw on Friday night, you can make a huge difference.

Check out our exciting new Neighbor to Neighbor tool and reach out to people in your community. We’ll provide talking points and a list of potential supporters you can call or canvass.

For millions of people, Friday’s debate was the first time they heard Barack’s plans to cut taxes for 95% of middle class families, bring a responsible end to the war in Iraq, make health care affordable, and rebuild our economy from the bottom up.

They also saw that John McCain — after his erratic and reckless response to the nation’s financial crisis — never once mentioned how he planned to help struggling American families. Throughout the entire debate, he didn’t say the words “middle class.” Not once.

On Friday, the differences between Barack and John McCain could not have been clearer.

    Now we just …

Moscow is such an incredible city. Interesting the questions from massive press conference- I really can’t believe the attention I get - boy. A lot of young Russian people ask me if Americans like them. I say of course- though we seem to be at odds with so many countries at the moment. Traveling is a real eye opener-Thank God we have Barack Obama - we have world issues now. It’s a small world. Global warming Global Economy- we have to all get along. And take care of each other.

I truly think Obama and the incredible Democratic party including Biden and the Clintons will save the world. Hillary Clinton IS the most powerful woman in politics in America. She will do more for Americans in any position or positions in the Democratic party than Palin could do as Mr McCain’s Vice President - if you have any loyalty to Mrs Clinton- you couldn’t possible switch over to that woman. They are opposite in every way. Let’s not fall for the political move that was clearly a slap in the face to Mrs Clinton. I believe whole heartedly in Mr Obama’s choice for Vice President. Mr Biden adds a great deal of importance and unique knowledge.  Ms Clinton has a lot up her sleeve. She can only be more effective if we elect Obama. There is a A force that goes beyond the Presidency. . The most intelligent people. Including the Clintons and many others are still very involved. Young people MUST vote. 1st time Voters MUST vote. This is our children’s president. It’s the most important election of our lifetime.  It will set the stage.  Or destroy the stage. It’s our choice. Every one counts.

    “She can suck it” means
    (Roughly translated)::
“I am profoundly opposed to Governor Palin’s position on a number of significant issues. I am thus vehemently against her becoming Vice President of the United States of America.

    Thank you,

    Laughing at all the reviews.
    Some are so hysterical.
Love how they think show is “contrived”? from me reading the stupid questions from the producers on camera- I battled them constantly -. I was clearly making fun of and never answered - (variety) I’d go crazy defending all the stuff- its been more positive than not- I’m thrilled.

    Hope you like the show.

    Hello from Australia!

    07.10.08 |

Hello from Australia! I just joined the Big Brother house for a wild three days. It’s a top show here and everyone’s talking about it. Of course the topic of animal rights came up among the group on live television. I had an interesting conversation with one of the female house mates, a vet, about mulesing. Nobody outside of Australia knows what mulesing is ” and when you say it people think you are talking about breakfast cereal or singing donkeys. Actually, it’s a bizarre mutilation the wool trade does on millions of lambs each year ” only in Australia, and it is PETA’s main campaign focus here.

Because sheep in Australia have been bred for decades to have more skin ” and therefore more wool ” the skin has grown so dense around their backsides that they can’t even defecate properly, and when they do the mess attracts flies, which can kill the sheep. So, instead of using a breed with a smooth rear (like they do in New Zealand) the industry just hacks away the skin all around millions of lambs’ rear ends ” with no panikillers. PETA exposed this in a video hosted by Pink
http://www.petatv.com/tvpopup/video.asp?video=wool_pink&Player=wm which helped convince huge companies like H&M, Liz Claiborne, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle and many more to demand farmers eliminate mulesing. About 20% of Australian sheep farmers have already done away with it. They use the adapted breeds, or monitor their …

Those who wish to pet and bay wild animals, “love” them. But those who respect their natures and wish to let them live normal lives, love them more. — Edwin Way Teale, American Naturalist, 1899-1980
